About R.E.M.

"R.E.M. is part lies, part heart, part truth and part garbage." Peter Buck 1988
Formed in 1980 in Athens, Georgia, R.E.M. have sold over  85 million records worldwide over a 31 year career, recording such hits as "Losing My Religion", "Man On The Moon" and "The One I Love", however it the sheer diversity of their material which defines them as one of the greatest, most influential bands of our time.
Catchy pop songs such as "Stand". "The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonite" and "Shiny Happy People" sit side by side with darker, heavier numbers such as "Drive" and "Everybody Hurts". The band have undertaken numerous world tours, performed twice on MTV Unplugged, and were inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame in 2007, before finally splitting amicably in 2011.
